Photo Prayer: from Duo Dickinson

Photo Prayers: Trinity Lent Devotionals 2026 – stay tuned for more photos to guide your prayers in this season of Lent. Today’s photo and reflection comes from Duo Dickinson:

Once in the air, a kite flies until it’s reeled in. Alive in the wind, a kite does not fly, it is held by the air we live through. Kites are also the apex of the ogee-arch windows in Gothic buildings. Kites are the glass keystones of rendered beauty: wood framed, structurally supported, fragile glass set in a frame.

This kite landed in our barn after 150 years of being held in Trinity's Nave: we now hold it in front of the light that brings life to cast glass - revealing the life of human rendering that is held and made alive by the glass.

That light is the air that gives life to our flying kites - and to us: Lent is the dawn light of this photo: defeating the dark, but only if we see it, if only the wind of our insight lifts us to God.
