Laundry Love
Love, Dignity, and Detergent. This is the vision of Laundry Love, a nationwide movement whose mission is to wash the clothes and bedding of low/no-income families and individuals across the country. Trinity’s Laundry Love program provides vouchers for people to do a free load of laundry (one wash and one dry, and the laundromat provides the detergent) at the Bulldog Laundromat, conveniently located at 96 Howe Street in downtown New Haven.
Our laundry vouchers are distributed every week after Chapel on the Green, our 2pm outdoor service that centers the experiences of Trinity’s unhoused parishioners. As our CotG community continues to grow, we are distributing more laundry vouchers than ever before, between 75-100 vouchers every week.
A load of laundry costs Trinity approximately $8.50, and we are only able to keep this program going because of the generous donations of individuals, volunteer groups, and grants. Please consider gifting a load of laundry to a member of our Trinity community in need of clean clothes and bedding: it is a simple but vital way to live out our Christian faith commitment to love our neighbors as ourselves.
