Photo Prayer: from Duo Dickinson

On a cool summer day on the coast of the Isle of Skye, Scotland, I catch a glimpse of time, life and human effort. New Thistles, a weed of Beauty, pop up in a coiled iron anchor chain. As alive with rust as the thistles are in their blooming, time is alive and frozen in the snapshot of a glance.

God gives us the life of thistle, rust of age, magic of the iPhone that dance in the choreography of the human and the natural. Lent is circumscribed by 40 days, and this period relates to 2,000 years ago. The intimate and the infinite are there every day, we just listen with an urgency time imposes on us. And I see a glimpse of God in chains and thistles.
