This Sunday during the Annual General Meeting, join us in the Choir Room after lunch for games of all kinds. Bring your favorite game to share, too! Teens and Spirit Questers: Will you help play and teach games to our little ones?
It was a very snowy morning, but our youth group still needed to fulfill our quest of feeding the hungry. Several Spirit Quest families made it to Trinity to cook, serve, and participate in Chapel on the Green, Trinity's ministry that feeds the hungry and unhoused every single Sunday.
First, many thanks to all who helped raise the funds to purchase the food -- we had just enough to get all the ingredients for Beef Stroganoff. Second, thanks to those who cut onions, made the sauce, browned the meat, cut and buttered bread, and cut up a ham. Thanks to all who served with smile and made sure everyone who came through the door got a hot meal, cookies, water, and fruit. And also, thanks to the donors and volunteers who put together the Blessing Bags of personal care items. They were gratefully received.
Trinity is blessed with a group of caring, responsible, and hard-working young people!
Thanks to the generosity of this congregation, we were able to distribute over 100 waterproof, rated for 15-degree weather sleeping bags to our unhoused community members who are forced to sleep outdoors in brutal conditions due to a lack of room in shelters and warming centers. Every sleeping bag is a lifeline for one of our Chapel on the Green parishioners; because of the need, we plan to keep collecting new or gently used clean sleeping bags or donations so that we can purchase them in bulk. Contact: Lisa Levy, Community Care Minister, at llevy@trinitynewhaven.org.
We regret to share that the upcoming event Pedals, Pipes and Pizza has been postponed to a date TBD, likely in April. Please reach out to Associate Director of Music Sarah Johnson with any questions.
Have you ever been interested in learning how a pipe organ works? Do you have a musically-curious child or teen who might like to try playing the organ? Join the New Haven Chapter of the American Guild of Organists to explore the pipe organs of Trinity on the Green and Center Church on the Green, followed by a pizza lunch at United Church on the Green. Beginning at 10 am on January 31st at Trinity on the Green, ending around noon at United Church on the Green. Registration is free - please email Associate Director of Music Sarah Johnson at sjohnson@trinitynewhaven.org to confirm registration.
We had a great group of volunteers show up last Sunday, many families bringing donations for our personal care bags for our unhoused friends on the Green. The bags will be distributed on Jan. 18 when Spirit Quest, our youth group for 8-13 year olds, cooks and serves for Chapel on the Green. Thank you to all the donors of the items used and to all those who helped put the bags together.
Are you already serving the community with a Trinity adjacent group, such as Friends of the Green or Columbus House Volunteers, or through another faith-based organization? Interested in engaging with other outreach-minded folks at Trinity? Not sure what "outreach" means but think you would like to know more? Then please join us as we set priorities for our work and impact!
This is a new beginning for the Outreach Committee at Trinity, which recently reorganized with the overall goal of making our outreach ministries more integrated with the wider Trinity community. Our plan is to develop a better understanding of who the existing groups are at Trinity, and in the wider community, that are already engaged in outreach and what it is that they are doing, so we can both support those groups and build on their efforts. Next Meeting: Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026 at noon in the Undercroft Library. Questions? Contact Rachel Scotch (rachelscotch@gmail.com).

We invite everyone in our St. Luke’s & Trinity communities to read The Church Cracked Open, by the Rev. Canon Stephanie Spellers. Beginning with the image of the woman who breaks open a jar to anoint Jesus with oil (Mark 14:3), Spellers explores how the church itself has been broken open by current events, and can be remade anew. Our communities will come together to discuss this book in two sessions, one with the author as special guest. Copies of the book are free, with an optional donation of $15.
Event organized by the St. Luke’s & Trinity Reconciliation Project, with support from YDS’s Reimagining Church initiative.
