St. Patrick's Day Parade this Sunday, March 15: Road Closures and Parking Ban

This Sunday, the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade will impact road access and parking in and around downtown New Haven. This year, maps of the parade indicate that the parking ban will be in effect starting at 9am rather than 1pm as in previous years. Please take this into account as you plan for travel to and from Trinity on Sunday.

In the event that you do receive a parking ticket while parked at Trinity for worship, please take a photo of the ticket and send it to the Trinity office for reimbursement.

Please see the map below for further details:

Special Event Announcement | New Haven, CT

Additionally, the Sham Rock and Roll is scheduled for this Sunday, and while road closures are away from downtown New Haven, they may have impacts for travel as well. Please see additional information here:

Statement regarding Community Care Minister Lisa Levy

Dear Trinity community,

We write to share some challenging news. Our Community Care Minister, Lisa Levy, was charged last Friday with state misdemeanor animal cruelty offenses. We have notified the Episcopal Church in Connecticut (ECCT) which is providing guidance. Lisa is represented by an attorney in her pending State case.

As we gather more information, we are placing Lisa on administrative leave. We are keeping Lisa in our prayers and all those impacted by this situation. This is a tragic situation, and we grieve it. As people of faith, we know that what God has made is sacred. As people whose lives are enriched by the companionship of animals, we know they must be treated with care, respect, and dignity.

We are mindful of the significant spiritual and emotional impact of this news on our community. Please be in touch with Rev. Luk or Rev. Heidi if you find yourself in need of a pastoral conversation.

Peace in Christ,

Rev. Luk De Volder
Rev. Heidi Thorsen

Stewardship: We Did It — and More!

With gratitude and joy, we’re thrilled to share that you have pledged $559,492.20 toward our 2026 Stewardship goal of $540,000, exceeding our goal by nearly $20,000.

This is more than a number. It is a resounding vote of confidence in Trinity on the Green’s mission and ministry.

Your generosity sustains:

  • Reverent, beautiful liturgy rooted in the depth and dignity of our Episcopal religious tradition.

  • Extraordinary music and artistic programming that lifts our worship and draws the wider community into this sacred space while nourishing our souls

  • Outreach ministries that serve our neighbors with compassion and dignity, living

  •  out Christ's call to love one another

  • Children’s formation and family ministries that shape young lives in faith, curiosity, and belonging while building the future of our church

Because of you, Trinity continues to be a place of beauty, service, and deep spiritual grounding.

Thank you for your faithfulness, your sacrifice, and your love for this community.

AFRICAN AMERICAN READ-IN

It is with much regret that I have been unable to arrange our February 2026 observance and celebration of Black History Month.  Health is the unfortunate issue.  I thank each of you who participated in our twenty-two years of observances.  I hope you have found joy meanwhile in your independent reading of poems, short stories, novels, plays, non-fictional narratives, speeches, and historical and cultural texts written by African Americans--as well as having enjoyed the various musical forms and attended dramatic presentations during the month.

I give thanks to the choir director for continuing Trinity's first Sunday in February's tradition of singing the Negro National Anthem--"Lift Every Voice and Sing"--and for following up on the second Sunday in the month with the spiritual "This Little Light of Mine."

Blessings & Gratitude,
Eleanor Q. Tignor,
Director, African American Read-In
