Shrove, derived from shrive, refers to the confession of sins as a preparation for Lent. Shrove Tuesday, also called Pancake Day in many parts of the world, takes place the day prior to Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Children of all ages are invited to flip pancakes in a pan while racing down the center aisle of the church. This Trinity Choir tradition now invites all to participate. Also, we’ll burn last year’s palms to be used the next day.
