Throughout the Bible we read the text again and again "Be it done to you according to your faith." Or as Eugene Peterson says from his translation of the Bible called "The Message": "Become what you believe," Matthew 9:29.
The theme of this year's Women's Retreat, "Become what you believe," is designed to explore what it is we believe, with the intent of allowing the written and spoken Word to go deep within our souls with the purpose of giving space for God's transforming presence.
Four sessions have been designed to frame an opportunity to explore God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and ourselves in relationship to each of the Holy Trinity. Brochure with details is attached and will be available in the Narthex on Sunday.

ECW News from the Triennial Meeting, June 20 2006
FIRST FEMALE PRESIDING BISHOP: KATHARINE JEFFERTS SCHORI
Thirty years after voting to approve the ordination of women as priests, Episcopal leaders on Sunday elected the first female presiding bishop of the 2.4 million-member Episcopal Church in the United States.
Nevada Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, 52, who was elected at the Episcopal General Convention in Columbus, Ohio, also is the first woman to lead any church in the worldwide Anglican Communion.
"There was an overwhelming sense of, 'Wow! We just did that?' "said Bishop William Persell of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago, describing the enthusiastic reaction of his brother and sister bishops to Schori's election. "We are an inclusive church, and we intend to be. Sometimes that means doing something for the first time, and this is the first time."
ECW HONORED WOMAN: Our own PAT CHAPPELL - Trinity Church on the Green
As we, the women of the Episcopal Church, U.S.A., gather for the Triennial Meeting in Columbus this June, we will bring with us our heritage and gratitude for our sisters who walk with us. We will honor and celebrate the life of one "HONORED WOMAN" from each diocese of our church. This woman models the Christian life. She walks in the ways of God in the church and the community. She uses her God given gifts in all she is and in all she does.
This woman, along with those chosen by other dioceses, will be recognized at a special event of the Triennial Meeting at 3:30 P.M. on Friday, June 16th in the Plenary Session V. All bios and pictures will be included in a printed booklet of our Honored Women of 2006.
Please join me in congratulating Pat Chappell on this very special award!

Our History: An Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Group Forms at Trinity
The ECW Workshop, held on 10/19/05, was attended by 25 Trinity women. We enjoyed a home-cooked dinner and had a lively discussion about our images of what ECW used to mean and what we need it to be today. Our group discussion concluded with a consensus on the areas of greatest needs that can be addressed through the activities of the ECW in the coming year. They included community support, outreach programs to support women and children, informational programs, entertainment/education and spiritual enrichment.
In addition to group discussions, a 4-part survey in the areas of Spiritual Growth, Outreach, Inreach and Commitment was taken.
The area of Spiritual Growth was evenly voted on, by having field trips, quiet days and retreats - ranging from spiritual to just restful and fun.
Outreach - it was almost unanimously decided to be a part of an ECW event that focuses on an outreach concern and in some way gives aid to that concern. For example, become actively involved in supporting Life Haven, a shelter for women and children.
Inreach - activities most popular were having speakers come in to discuss health and social issues, educational, personal and spiritual growth. In addition, many wanted to have a party just for fun and fellowship.
Commitment was unanimous on the statement "I want to see a revitalized Episcopal Church Women group at Trinity, and I will support it in spirit, with my prayers, and by participating as I am able to do." Sixty percent preferred including dinner with the meeting, all of which offered to help host. Forty percent preferred a meeting with coffee and snacks.
