Choir of Men and Girls

It is fitting that, in a church with such a long tradition of choral leadership by children, the Choir of Men and Girls now takes a prominent place in the worship services of Trinity Church. The choir was founded in the Fall of 2003 comprising members auditioned from all over south-central Connecticut. Girls from grades 5 through 10 form the soprano section of the choir, accompanied by adult alto women, adult tenors and adult basses. These adults do not double the girls voice parts, but instead provide strong musical support of the soprano voices of the girls and, as with the Choir of Men and Boys, enable these young singers to offer and experience a great range of choral repertoire unavailable to choirs that sing only the treble line.

The Choir of Men and Girls sings at either the 9:00 or 11:00 am Sunday services, at occasional Evensongs, and at special parish services. Their repertoire includes service anthems and both sacred and secular concert music. For information on auditions, which take place in the early Spring, please call Walden Moore at the Music Office (203) 776-2616 or e-mail music@trinitynewhaven.org.
