Acolyte Program

The acolyte group consists of more than 30 children from the parish and choirs. Acolytes assist in multiple service styles, from the family-style 9:00 service, to Morning Prayer and Choral Eucharist at 11:00.

Click here for the 9 am and 11 am service schedules for March 30 to May 25, 2008 (PDF).

Acolytes Assisting at the 9 am Sunday Service, February 25, 2007

The 9 o'clock service at Trinity is a less formal service with communion "in the round." These pictures show how the two acolytes assist the clergy, lighting the altar candles and holding the bread and wine.

Acolytes at the 11 am Sunday Service, February 18, 2007

Just a typical 11 o'clock Sunday morning service at Trinity, with three acolytes in attendance. They lead the procession, assist with the offering and Holy Eucharist, and lead the choir and clergy out at the end of the service.

Back in October, 2004, a group of Trinity's acolytes attended the Washington National Cathedral's Acolyte Festival. Pictures and story here.
