Ministries

Trinity is an active and vibrant parish with many ministries in diverse areas. Below are a few ways you can become involved in the life and work of Trinity Church on the Green. 

Administration

Communication Committee - Our goal is good communication both within the parish and beyond the walls of our parish. Contact Ed Stannard.

Investment Committee - Oversees the investment portfolio of Trinity's endowment. Members are traditionally appointed by the Rector. Contact David Soper.

Properties Committee - Plans, oversees, and sometimes performs tasks associated with maintenance, repair, and renovation of our beautiful building. Contact Duo Dickinson.

Stewardship Committee - Organizes the annual Pledge Drive, when parishioners pledge support of their time, talent, and finances for the work of Trinity. Contact Rose Pawlikowski.
 

Outreach/Missions

Chapel on the Green - Every Sunday at 2:00 pm people gather on the Upper Green (directly behind Trinity) for a brief (25-30 minute) service of Holy Eucharist followed by distribution of food to all those in need.

Columbus House Dinner - Once a month Trinity parishioners make dinner for homeless people at Columbus House Shelter. If you cannot attend, you can also provide cupcakes for dessert. Work at the shelter kitchen from about 3:00 to 5:00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month. Contact Warner Marshall or Gloria Hoda.

Community Outreach (Grant Committee) - Trinity Church oversees grants from restricted endowments to charitable groups. The committee meets regularly to read applications and make awards. We give $80k to $100k annually to a variety of groups. Contact Julia Bogardus.

Community Works Committee - This committee coordinates all of Trinity’s work in the community to make this world a better place. Contact Leigh Cromey or Warner Marshall.

Evangelism Committee - This group works to promote outside awareness of Trinity and encourage people to become members of Trinity. Contact Karrie Hendrickson and Jack Tebes.

F. L. King Fund - This committee awards medical and educational grants to parishioners in need. This committee meets once per year in the late Spring. Contact Sherrill Farkas.

Habitat for Humanity - On designated Saturdays volunteers from Trinity work at a Habitat site in the area. Trinity sponsored a house as a part of the Sleeping Giant Build. Contact Leigh Cromey.

Trinity Home Board - This elected board supervises spending of interest from the endowment created by the sale of the original Trinity Home, for work with the elderly. Contact Nancy Ahlstrom.

Worship

Acolytes (Adult & Youth) - Acolytes: Assist the clergy. At the 9:00 am service, acolytes are youth ages ten and up; at the 11:00 am service, we have both youth and adult acolytes. Contact Karrie Hendrickson.

Altar Guild - Takes care of all the items for the altar, including flowers, linens, communion elements for the services, and baptism vessels. Contact Jan Tredwell.

Children’s Chapel Assistants - Children’s Chapel is held at 11:00 am in the undercroft. It mirrors the “adult service” in content but has prayers and music accessible to children, and a children's sermon.  Adults are needed to assist with the chidlren. 

Conference Call Operators - Trinity offers a conference call to our homebound parishioners.  We need operators to oversee the phones during the service. Training will be provided.  Contact: Parish Office

Lectors/Chalice Bearers - Opportunity to read Scripture lessons duing the service and assist the clergy with communion by adminstering the chalice. Contact Ann Hoefer.

Ushers - Ushers greet people as they enter the building, distribute bulletins, answer questions, and generally assist at the service. Contact Elizabeth Duenkel (9:00 am) or Joe Dzeda (11:00 am).
