Worship Services
One of Trinity’s greatest strengths is the diversity of worship and music styles it is able to offer each week. Below is a brief description of each service we offer. Try out each service a few times and see which one speaks to you most.
Regular Services
7:45 am Holy Eucharist:
This is our most contemplative service. Each Sunday, we offer Holy Eucharist in our side chapel and use the traditional language of Rite One. The sermon is shorter than the 9:00 and 11:00 services. There is no music except for a final hymn.
9:00 am Family Eucharist:
While this service is geared toward families with younger children, all are welcome and usually feel at home. This relaxed service features a children’s message as well as a sermon. We use the contemporary language of Rite Two. The children all gather around the altar during the words of the Eucharist and help bless the Bread and the Wine. The music for the service also tends to be more contemporary and eclectic.
11:00 am Holy Eucharist or Morning Prayer:
This is our most traditional service we offer at Trinity. Either the Choir of Men and Boys, Choir of Men and Girls or the Trinity Singers help lead the traditional music of either Morning Prayer or Holy Eucharist.
We use the traditional language of Rite One, and the priest celebrates the Eucharist from the high altar.
2:00 pm Chapel on the Green:
In November of 2008, Trinity launched an outdoor service on the Upper Green behind Trinity. This service takes place in all weather conditions.
We offer a brief (30 minutes) and informal service of Holy Eucharist followed by distribution of food to all those in need. All are welcome to attend.
5:00 pm Evensong (usually offered once per month Sept - May)
Since the late middle ages, "evensong" has been the popular name for vespers (from the Latin vesperis, "evening"), the Evening Office of the western church. Occasionally one of the Trinity Choirs will sing evensong. This beautiful choral service uses the traditional language of Rite One.
Weekday Services
Wednesdays
12:10 pm Holy Eucharist and Healing Service:
Each week we offer a brief service of Holy Eucharist, followed by a service of anointing for healing. Sacramental oil is used as an outward sign of God's active presence for healing in body, mind or spirit.
Receiving the Eucharist at Trinity:
Here at Trinity, we believe this is the Lord’s Table, and ALL are welcome to receive Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion, Lord's Supper) regardless of age or where you are on your faith journey. If you would like information about receving the Eucharist or baptism, contact a member of the clergy.
Children at Worship:
Children of all ages are welcome at all our services.
The 9:00 am service is geared towards including children as a part of the service. Children are invited to sit in the first few pews, so they can see what is going on in the service.
At our 11:00 am service, we offer a Children's Chapel. Children join a member of the clergy and other adults downstairs in the undercroft for a special service geared for preschool through fifth grade.
Nursery Care at the 9:00 and 11:00 services:
We provide professional nursery care for infants through age 3 at the 9:00 and 11:00 services. Our nursery staff will provide a silent paging system to each parent in case they are needed during the service.
