Since 1990, the "Tons of Food" campaign—a friendly challenge among New Haven area churches to stock local food pantries for our neighbors in need—has been a collaborative undertaking. The congregations that have participated in the past tell us the "Tons" campaign has become an important part of their social ministry effort, raising awareness of community needs among their members in addition to meeting the primary goal of helping others.

Trinity needs your help for "Tons of Food 2010". You'll find that it's as much good fun as it is good deed. Here is how it works. Congregations agree to collect nonperishable, easy-to-prepare food and special monetary contributions during the campaign: this year the collection dates are April 11, 18 and 25. 

Each week, the collections are weighed (or $1 equals 2 pounds) and we report our weekly results and the results will be posted on the Trinity Church website.
